Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Robyn Langlands is conducting a survey for her PhD thesis about the thoughts, feelings, and events that lead people to injure themselves on purpose. The kinds of behaviours that she is looking at include cutting, burning, hitting, and severe scratching. The survey should take you no more than an hour to complete and you could win one of two iPod Shuffles (2GB).

SF Otago has a new look
Old Faces/New Look!!! The SF Otago website has been given an extreme make over, and it is now proudly displaying its fantastic new face. Our beloved op shop ‘Simply the Best’ is also going through a change, it has been revamped and the new layout of the shop is looking amazing. Keep popping in as more changes are planned. A big thank you to Sue and Bernie at Tapestry Clubhouse and to Kathy Hunt who is our head volunteer, their hard work has made it all possible. The biggest news is that Tapestry Clubhouse has a new Team Leader – Karla Butler (see separate Tapestry news item), we wish Karla and the team at Tapestry all the best for the year ahead.
Simply the Best – SF Otago Op Shop News
SF Otago is extremely excited to share with you all the exciting changes that are currently underway in our much-loved op shop. The team of volunteer staff with support from Sue and Bernie at Tapestry Clubhouse and the members have changed the lay out of the shop and have set up some great displays, which show case the fantastic items of clothing, shoes and the other exciting bits and pieces. The shop is being used as a training opportunity for some of the members at Tapestry Clubhouse. A truly great way to start 2010.
Tapestry Clubhouse News
Tapestry Clubhouse is starting 2010 with a BANG!! We are excited to announce that the position of Team Leader has been filled by Karla Butler. Karla was previously working as a fieldworker for SF Otago. During her time there she constructed the TEENS Programme, which was successfully piloted last school term. She is a trained counsellor and holds a Diploma in Social Services – specialising in Counselling. Karla would like to say that she is looking forward to working alongside the staff and members and is eagerly looking to the road ahead.
